Dr. Dima Kanaan, a Postdoctoral Fellow specializing in Concrete Technology at the University of British Columbia, brings a wealth of expertise to her role. With a focus on innovative research, Dima is dedicated to addressing the challenges associated with concrete infrastructure. Her expertise lies in the development of sustainable concrete materials and concrete durability, particularly in diagnosing and prognosticating concrete affected by physical sulfate attacks and chemical reactions (PSA). Her work revolves around identifying strategies to minimize greenhouse gas emissions linked with concrete production. Dima’s research explores the utilization of advanced materials, such as supplementary cementitious materials and ground limestone, to enhance the durability and sustainability of concrete products. She has authored and co-authored numerous refereed publications on these topics and contributed significantly to the development of standard test protocols for the design and assessment of concrete.
